Dear Friends,
Saigon Reformed Presbyterian church is an independent church, located
in Santa Ana, California. We are incorporated as a non profit organization,
and any donations received by us are tax deductible under section 501© of Internal Revenue code in the USA.
By the support of Vietnamese Community, we have made 23 mission trips
to Vietnam from February 2000, up to May 2004. During these mission
trips we have drilled over 1000 wells, bringing clean and safe water
to villages in rural areas in Viet-Nam. Every year, thousands of Vietnamese
people die due to water related diseases, and in many areas the average
life span does not pass the age of 40 because of contaminated water.
Besides that, we have distributed over 2000 tons of rice to flood victims,
and we also provide rice to 7 different leprosy camps every month. We
have provided roofing material for 2695 houses and distributed over
10,000 blankets. We have distributed 1395 tricycle-wheelchairs to former
South Vietnamese Veterans and handicapped. Since the Viet-Nam war era,
American war Veterans have received all kinds of support and compensation.
Similarly the North Vietnamese Communist Government has taken care of
their own Veterans. Sadly, the South Vietnamese war Veterans have been
forgotten. Over 29 years have passed, and more than half of them have
died suffering, in poverty. Who is responsible for those left handicapped?
They fought for preventing Communist expansionism in Southeast Asia,
they fought for freedom of the World, but now everyone has turned their
backs on them. The war has been over for 29 years and now is the time
for healing the wounds of war. We can help by providing them with Tricycle-wheelchairs,
food, blankets and housing. As a minister, I request that you consider
helping in this humanitarian effort. Your support can help make a large
impact on the suffering of these forgotten victims.
Each tricycle-wheelchair costs US$200.00
Each well costs US$500.00
Rice costs US$10.00 for 25 kg per month for one family.
One new house costs US$500.00, for the poorest of the poor.
Each blanket costs US$5.00.
Jesus Christ said: Come you are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance,
the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I
was hungry and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty and you gave
me something to drink.....(Mathew 25:31ff.) We are blessed by God and
we must show our blessing through giving. Jesus said: Let your light
shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your
Father in heaven. (Mathew 5:16)
I hope that through the photos you see on this website and through our
video, all the walls of different denominations, barriers of different
cultures and the stumbling-block of selfishness will be removed, in
order to glorify God, so that His name will be known and millions of
Vietnamese people will be saved. (Vietnam's present population is 85
million). Our goal for next 5 years is to drill 10,000 wells; distribute
10,000 tricycle-wheelchairs for handicapped, build 10,000 houses for
the poorest of the poor, and to distribute 5,000 tons of rice.
